Nike Lasts and Shoe Fit

The information from Nike Golf about their shoe line completes this series on Golf Shoes - Why Fit Matters. It took awhile but the Nike rep came through with some valuable information about Nike shoe lasts and how they are designed.

Klees Golf Shop carries quite a few Nike golf shoes. Nike has a good return policy, a 45 day comfort guaranty and offers cutting edge styles that urban golfers find attractive. However, Nike shoes tend to run narrower and shallower than those of FootJoy, Callaway or Etonic.  Consequently, fewer of our customers have found Nike shoes comfortable.

Nike has responded to these differences with a broader offering of lasts, with some clearly designed for wider feet or feet requiring more room in the toe box or around the instep.

N-59:  Athletic fit, rounded toe and tapered heel.  Accommodates all foot types.

The Air Academy, Air Anthem, Air Rival and Air Rate are models that have the N-59 last.

N-63:  Universal fit, standard profile and contemporary toe shape.  Accommodates most foot types.  The Air Zoom TW, Tour Premium, Zoom Trophy and Air Elite II have the N-63 last.

N-61:  Sport-inspired, anatomical fit.  Sculpted arch and cupped heel for low-profile comfort and stability.  The Air Zoom Vapor II has the G-61 last.
