100th Anniversary

100th Anniversary - Stories and Salutes

Klees Golf Shop is 100 years old this year, 2010.  As was the case in past milestone years, e.g., 25, 50 and 75 (years 1935, 1960 and 1985) the golf shop is dealing with tough times.

The 25th anniversary was during the Great Depression, a bad time for everyone. The 50th anniversary occured shortly after a difficult move to a new location, a steep decline in Louisa Klees' health and the year John Klees had his 6th child.

The 75th milestone took place just as this country was climbing out of the worst inflation in history.

The 100th anniversary finds the shop hanging in there, in the third year of the worst recession since the Great Depression.  But all is not gloom and doom. This page will have references to the shop founders, course history, public relations and events that take place celebrating 100 years in business.

Stay tuned.
